Why Choose OROS OR3x Analyzers for Modal & ODS Applications?

OROS’ flagship 3-series line of noise & vibration analyzers was designed for portable, multichannel and real-time applications. Through 25 years of experience, several ergonomic features have been incorporated that are particularly valuable for modal applications. These features have proven to save users significant measurement time.

Powerful and Flexible

With built-in and dedicated DSP processing, OROS instruments provide advanced
capabilities like:

  • Real-time signal analysis to 40kHz on up to 32 channels with 6,400 spectral lines (analysis zoom if more needed) and multiple (up to 4) FFT plug-ins.
    • For example, you can set each FFT to have different parameters (40kHz + 6,400 lines + 6 linear averages versus 2kHz + 3,200lines + peak-hold averaging).
  • Up to 6 signal generator outputs with multiple sources including advanced swept & step sine types.
  • Make all your cross-channel measurements at once thanks to the multireference capability.

The Sequencer Keeps the Test Organized

An Excel-based application that speeds up your acquisition and ensures proper housekeeping for degree-of-freedom information. Sequencer also provides great flexibility; particularly for repetitive tests or for reacquiring measurements at specific points.

Real-time Data Display

Notice the layout in the figure below. Both time signals (trigger blocks) and spectral results (e.g., coherence, FFT spectra) may be viewed in real-time. Then you can quickly see if you double hit your hammer or if your weighting windows need adjustment.

Multiple Layouts

You might imagine that trying to display up to 32 channels of data could make for a cluttered and unusable screen. For that reason, our software engineers have included multiple layouts that can easily be toggled by depressing hotkeys on the keyboard. That way, you can glance at all of your results and group them in ways to make interpretation most efficient for you.
