With the addition of torsional vibration measurement fully integrated in to the OROS 3-series analyzers, OROS takes another step in rotating machinery analysis and completes the circle to perform all your vibration diagnostic applications.
Dulles, VA - Nov 10, 2009 – Rotating components of machinery such as engines, generators and power transmissions are continuously subjected to torsional forces, resulting in torsional vibrations. Torsional forces dramatically fatigue the machined parts. The sooner they are detected, the more reliably the operations can run and the less damage the rotating components will cause to themselves and surrounding parts.
Measuring and analyzing torsional vibrations is an essential task for predictive maintenance of field-installed power generation machinery. As an integrated option in the analyzer chassis the OROS torsional option simplifies diagnostic operations: “When we go out into the field, portability and minimal cabling is essential for us but we don’t want to compromise on performance and reliability”, says George P, an advisory engineer at a major gas turbine manufacturer.
Up to 6 tach inputs oversampling at 6.4MHz, 1,024 pulses/rev and 40,000 RPM (with a 60 pulse/rev), makes the OROS 3-Series analyzers ideally suited for rotating measurements.
NVGate, the analyzer software, features multianalysis capabilities. It can simultaneously record time domain signals (for later post-processing) and perform real-time spectral analysis for all the diagnostics you need: time-domain analysis, spectral and order domain as well as overall and waterfall analysis. These powerful analysis modes clearly highlight the mechanical fault signatures embedded in the torsional signals.
OROS offers the latest technology for rotating analysis and can be combined with turbomachinery vibration, acoustics and structural solutions to offer a complete Noise & Vibe analysis package to engineers working in a power plant, a chemical site or a turbomachinery service center.
