Noise-Con 2008 and the Sound Quality Symposium 2008 are held in
conjunction with the 30th Annual Conference of ASME’s Noise
Control and Acoustics Division (NCAD) at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn.

Highlights on the Acoustic Noise Camera
"Looking with ears _ allowing you to visualize heard things"
 The
Acoustic Noise Camera is a tool, capable to revolutionize localization,
characterization and mapping of noise. Like a camera gathering image
information from different views through its optical lens, the Acoustic
Noise Camera does the same with acoustical information. The lens is
represented by a geometrical arrangement of microphones, an array,
facing the object to be measured. The main advantage of this solution
compared to the others is dramatic: you can save a lot of time and
acquire a color map of a source is very fast and simply. Another
important advantage of this method is that nonstationary processes can
be evaluated, for example the run up of a car engine.
This is an important advantage over older techniques. This is now
possible with the Acoustic Camera designed by the company Dr. Sibaei +
Hastrich and based on the high-end technology of the OROS
multi-analyzer OR38.
